Topic: Screen freezes

I have a brand spanking new Macbook with 2Ghz processor, dual core, and 80 gig harddrive. I use an external hard-drive for loading songs, and i dont use it for web browsing. Everytime I load a track into the Mac version, the whole screen temporaily freezes (but the music continues) giving me an anxiety attack that its gonna crash......what the heck is goin on here? I also have 1 gig of RAM and the settings are on fastest.

what other hardware are you using with it ?

any external soundcards?

how large are the mp3s
