Topic: VDJ 5 - Using with Mk2 and NTC

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I used VDJ 5 initially just on my notebook with the 2.1 built in sound card, no problems.

But once i connected my Mk2 (as soundcard) and NTC (as controller), started to get strange behaviour with the output.

The NTC operated all controls on the GUI just fine, but nothing made any difference to the sound that was pumping out of the speakers.(Bass, Volume etc unaffected)

If i changed the Headphone selection from Deck A to Mix on the Mk2, the sound would stop completely, i seemed only to be getting one channel of sound also being sent to the speakers.

I tried swapping output from 1&2 to 3&4, but this made no difference

I've setup VDJ 5 exactly as i had VDJ 4 setup (in the soundcard section), but it behaves very differently.

Output (Speaker & Headphone)
Soundcard (4.1)
Driver (Primary)

also tried

Output (Speaker & Headphones)
Soundcard (ASIO)
Driver (Hercules Mk2 ASIO)

However, i only had 10 mins to play around before it was bed time, so i will try and get it sorted later.

In the mean time, if you have any suggestions, they would be greatly recieved.

I know these are stupid questions... but let me do them!

Have you disabled the DJC in the "Remote Control" panel?
Is MIDI enabled?

Yes, the Mk2 is disabled and the NTC is enabled.

The NTC actually controls the GUI fine, no issues with that.

The Mk2 (which is acting as a sound card only) seems to be pumping out audio on the the line out (1 & 2), but it's as if it pumping out what i should be hearing through my headphones when listening to Deck A. However, changing headphone volumes doesn't affect the volume being sent out... so im confused !!

Have tried swapping Master from Channels 1 & 2 to 3 & 4 .... no joy

I will play again with it all tonight, i think initially i'll try using the Mk2 as both the controller & sound card and see if that works better and then take it from there.

Will post back later with my findings.

Problem solved.

I changed the Sound card settings back to.

Output > Speaker Only
Soundcard > Simple
Driver > Primary

Then switched back to my normal setup. All was fine.
