I don't use that but my brother is using Cubase and make music with it. You can record them one by one I think, or you can use some external mixer for musicians like Dynacord Powermate or similar. Don't know really does Maya can record that much channels at the same time but it should as it supports TCV which is 2xstereo which means 4 mono channels, so you can try that.

yes I think it should be possible but u need to use it with external sound mixer such as the behringer xenyx series 1832fx (example) that also have the sub channel faders where u could split it into 8 tracks co-currently and some ADAT component or a harddisk recorder (betta)
