Alright, i've been mixing for about 2 and half years, and now i want to take it a step further, and connect some speakers to my laptop, which i have never done before, i am looking to get some pioneer ones for about £300 but i am still undecided. i have been told i will need an amp, and perhaps a mixing controller, i want to use virtual DJ to play the tracks through the speakers, but i am not sure what to do, and what to connect, and what components i need? can someone please help, i would really appreciate it.

When you say mixing controller do you mean something like the Hercules MK2?
With the MK2 or any other mixing controller you basically connect to red and white jacks from the speakers to the controlller.
If you want to connnect the speakers directly to the computer i would think you would need a special connector as normal sound cards do not have red a white jacks on.
