I got a few issues and I can't figure out how to fix them.
What I'm Running:
-Processor: Pentium 4 2.0A
-Video: Nvidia TNT 64
-Hard Drive: 40 GB Western Digital
-OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (had same problems with Windows XP Pro)
-RAM: DDR 1GB
-Audio: Soundblaster Audigy Platium EX.
-Midi Control: DJ Console
-Turntables: 2 Gemini 600II's
Issues:
1. After 5-10 minutes into mixing VDJ shuts down and restarts to the skin selection window.
2. When useing napster the program freezes up sometimes.
3. When loading 2 napster songs it takes forever for them to load and when it comes to scratching the crossfader on the DJ Console doesn't work at times.
4. When rewinding an mp3 with the turntable the sound gets very choppy.
I'm not trying to use videos to scratch with and thats why I'm not too conserned on the video card. I did try my ATI X300 256MB but it was giving me the same problems....

try this options > performances
on this set to fastest , untick safemode
set autolatency
see how it fares now on general mixing
you may aslo have an irq issue
learn how to resolve that here

Way under powered PC to be running VISTA OS, probably in AERO mode too?
P4 with only 1Gb of DDR RAM and a 40Gb Hard Drive is is probably an old IDE ATA133 drive.
This is out right a very low performance system. Also, what is your Internet connection type? Pulling 2 files through the Napster - bandwidth?

Please use XP, Vista is a monster that eats dual core processors and 2Gb of ram and big hardisk ;)
Install XP, follow instructions for killing processes you don't need in SkyFxl's blog.

on control pannel of vista check what your hardware score is

You will need a score of 4 or upwards to run without issues.

My score is 4.3 (how ironic) and I hate Vista. In Vista my lowest score is on my processor which is 4.3. I will end up building a new pc if I go back to usin my computer to dj at work. I never had issues with XP and VDJ so I have a dual boot with both. I would say go to XP or find the problem with Vista.

ok now I got it all working, but now instead of after 5-10 minutes of the thing restarting it's now every time I'm not playing music. like i have to keep playing music to keep the thing open.

I still suspect Vista being underpowered on your machine. I would try and install a fresh copy of XP OR try to reinstall Vista then go to performance and see what your score is.
