Topic: Search by artist?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

This may seem like a silly question,
....but can you search for a tune by atist? or Genre, or year?

If so, how?

Not currently. For some reason search only gives results by filename rather than tagnames. I suppose if your music is catagorised like the following it may work:

C:/Documents and Settings/buddy2007/My Music/2006/Nas/Hip-Hop Is Dead/*.mp3

but that's a big hassle for sure.

For now download this tool - http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/download.html?addon_id=2170

With VDJ closed - run the tool and put checks in the SearchinTitle, SearchinArtist, SearchinFileName, SearchinPath - Hit the Apply button then Close.

Now run VDJ and do your searches by Artist - what are your results?
