Hey
I've been using VDJ with Vista for a few weeks and everything has run smoothly. A couple of days ago though, the sound quality dropped significantly, beats are skipping and each track has a distorted feel to it.
My specs are:
2.8 gb processor
2 gig ram
120gb harddrive
using internal soundcard
Why would it have dropped so suddenly? When using the program it still registers CPU usage at minimum

Something has changed, try using Overclock option, if it stops it is your sound card. Try to set latency to auto and see if it helps.
I suggest using some better sound card ;)

Has something else 'kicked in' this time that might have not been running last time you used the software?
I mean like windows update, a virus scanner, windows defender etc.
Has windows update installed a newer driver for your laptop recently? Sometimes the drivers Microsoft update installs are not the correct drivers for laptop and you should check with the laptop manufacturers website to see if a more suitable one is available.
