how is this done and what do i need to get to do it and modify, cut, add delete and all the other cool stuff. and yes i know not to go overboard with it

Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. Hold they Alt key when you press Print Screen (i.e. press them at the same time) to capture a screenshot of only the currently selected window. Then you can paste (ctrl+v) the image into an image editing software.

that is right:) n imo photoshop is ur best option in editing
