hi there fellow DJing friends, i recently bourght virtual dj 4.2 and i am having problems applying the new skins i have down loaded. can anyone shed some light on this matter for me. many thanks DJ M

And it is very unlikely you are using Official Skins from this site - since you must be a PRO user to download skins. Also, you can not buy previous versions and if you just bought VDJ then it would be v4.3.
