Can you guys give me some advise on a laptop that will work. I would like to use the skin with the 2 monitors and view screen. I have tried a few and they all have stutter/freeze problems.

Thanks
Mario

Get a Core2Duo laptop.... Nvidia 7600GT or better.... 1GB of RAM or better.

Get an ATI card of 512 mb

nvida has issues , with fast video.

In my opinion ATI x1600 is a good videocard.
Of my experience are AMD (Athlon64 3800+ or Turion for example) and ATI (x1600 with 256MB RAM or higher) are a good combination to mix videos.

I have the X1600 Mobility with 256mb integrated memory in my laptop and although I don't really mix videos, it is most definitely a good video card. The minimum video card you should go for is the ATI X1600 Mobility or Go 7600 by Nvidia.

I am curious as to what "issues" NVIDIA cards have with VDJ. I have ran this program on a PC with a 7600GT and a Quadro1500M (running at 7800 speeds). Both with no real issues.

Also a card with slow 512mb of ram will be useless compared to a card with 256mb gddr3 ram. You can even get cards with 768mb ram, more isn't always better with computers, or most things in life come to think of it.

on some nvida cards on laptops the software and drivers included slow the video down , so alot of tweaking needs to be done

which can be unwanted greif , if your not tech savvy

if it works for you thats great but there have been alot of tickets about it , and a letter sent to nvida by some users

So what tweaking needs to be done? Couldn't some sort of tweak tool be made if the problems are known and not unique to each system.

Just stumbled across this link:-

ATI really wipe the floor with Nvidia when it comes to video.
