I have a ESI U46DJ and it worked fine with VDJ 3 but after upgrading to VDJ 4 it haven't worked proper.
It have been impossible to use pre listening because it gives dropouts in the main channels.
Someone told me that I had not enough of memory, and maybe to week processor...
No I have a new computer a 1,73 GHz Core 2 Duo with 2 Gb of memory, separate graphic memory.
AND now... Its worse! much worse... After playing for 10 - 30 minuets its starts to come a lot of dropouts and "gitter". sounds really bad.
I only hear good about this sound card but I cant get it to work.
tried 1.014 ( don’t work at all) 1.016 and 1.018 works as described above...
Please advise!

Try uninstalling everything that relates to the U46DJ, including going through explorer and the registry.
Then install 1.0.16 drivers and plug it in, into other USB port if you can.
Worked for me... =)

I have tryed every settings, now i have bouth a new computer... same problem and worse... an now i boute a new soundcard with fire wire... SAME PROBLEM...
I don't think its a hard wear problem.
I newer had this problem with VD 3.X
I think it have something to do thith te prelistening progaming, is it using some windows mediaplayer files?
could it be some Direct X problems?
