Hi! I've been using the hercules DJ console MK2 & VDJ 3.4.1 on my regular PC and its was working just fine! It has a Pentium 4 Processor with 2,6 Ghz and a 512mb ram memory.

I've worked up my skills to a decent level so i decided to buy a laptop to play on parties and similar occasions.

Now I bought a Compaq EVO N610c with a 2Ghz processor and with 512mb ram. I thought that would work because the minimum standards was P3 processor with 256mb ram and 800mhz.

But it didn't...

I mean I can play the songs but you can hear that the sound isn't clear and it's lagging a bit.

For example: you loop the track to ½ and change the bpm to higher and higher and of that you get the effect that the sound gets faster and faster. In this case it didn't. You hear it more clearly that the sound isn't right.

Are my laptop useless or do I just need to change some settings on the laptop or on VDJ?
I think its strange if it has something to do with my spec. on the laptop because its almost similar as on my regular PC.

FORGOT! I use win XP on both computers .

I'm not an expert, but I think your ram memory should be increased to at least 1gig.

I have a 4 month old Toshiba laptop, which I use my hercules MK2 console with. It has 1gig of ram and VDJ work fine.

My advice would be to start there and see how you go.

i would definately recommend getting 1gb ,

you should look into reducing the number running processes and services

on your machine check my blog on some info on this

You bought a laptop with a worse spec than you currently have???

Did I miss something.

Buy 2Gb RAM if you can as more is better. Unles you bought a Dual Core processor this this will make negligible difference. More RAM is the best way to improve performance.

www.crucial.com for ram memory upgrades... dont get ripped off by a computer story
