Topic: Vestax Or Numark Total Control ????

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello My fellow spinners
I need a good advice here, I have been trying for TWO YEARS to make th Hercules console work for me but It is just no happen, I change to the MK2 and nothing, I have Laptop Dell XPS 1210 with a Dual core 2.0ghz 1g Ram. with Windows XP

I have follow every possible advise in this forums, but I keep getting Direct X drivers error.
I already download the newest version and is not that.
Is funny because in a cheaper computer my friend has the software and the console works just fine.
It jus doen´t work on mine and we have the same settings.

Any way I am exausted of dealing with this, so I am ready to buy something else.

I am Looking at the VESTAX MIDI CONTROLLER or the NUMARK TOTAL CONTROL. I know I am gonna need a souncard but I need to know what you guys recomend??

Is the VESTAX supported by VDJ or is it gonna be another pain on the but, to make it work.
What about The Numark TC is it working fine for everyone ???

Please let me know, is really frustrating after two years still not being able to have fun with the software since , even though I have a controller I am still mixing with my fingers on the the laptop(not fun at all).

Cheers M8s

Vic C:

I don't know if the Vestax is fully compatible with VDJ, but NUMARK TOTAL CONTROL is fully compatible. I just got mine about a week ago, and it is a plug and play device, you just plug it to a USB 2.0 port and wait until it recognize the device and your done, you can control everything in VDJ, I know the Vestax might have better quality in manufacture, but the NTC is pretty nice too, it is made of hard plastic, the knobs are plastic but some of them have some sort of rubber cuating that is very nice to the feel.

The point is, if you don't wanna get into the hassel of mapping the controler, then get the Total Control, you just plug it in, then open VDJ, go to Remote controls and click on Total Control, a green light should light up, and you are ready to spin.

Pssl doesn’t give you free shipping. There are other sites that will. The jog V100 isn’t completely compatible at this time. Something to do with the jogs.. I love my NTC and if your just looking for a controller and don’t plan to use TCV then definitely go for the NTC. If you’re looking into using TCV then wait for there are controller coming out that will probably blow the doors off the V100.
But you will pay lots for those controllers. Mor than the V100.
Good luck
