when i was a touring drummer i used to have times like that ..... if you changed something important to how you work and sound i would find myself saying ok this is cool but way different and i have zero comfort level and experience for the moment .......so back to basics.......
even now i am very cautious about changes and very slow to debut new stuff live .........
it's nice that other people will say oh that's great just do it that kinda thing......but they don't know....
only you know really....i've gotten very insistent in doing things the way i want , i dont like half measures and compromise
get everything how you want it , get comfortable with the new setup and then blow 'em away

allways a good thing to step a few steps back to play with the new, without worries of messing up here n there,
lol my nieghbors hate it when i bring equipment home to practice with new hardware :))
big picture widows vibrate to the beat :))
