It would be an absolutely fantastic idea, especially for those of use playing in front of discerning pub crowds that know their music and are willing to ask for songs that are, maybe, just a little off the beaten track - if the sodding thing actually worked!! The vast majority of tracks come up with an 'error -' message when attempting to load them and, most annoyingly, causes CUE to fall on its arse when you least expect it when either you've initially logged onto the Napster database and /or been browsing the Global Database. Damn!
Anyone else having problems with this aspect of CUE? Does anyone find that it works just fine (and what Napster account type they have if it does?)
And would anyone else be ranting and raving about this brilliant element of CUE, other than me... if, like I say, it worked??

Yeah this feature never worked properly in version 3.4 either. I seem to recall from old topics that the dev team figured that the problem was on Napster's side, while at the same time, Napster's hardly going to be bothered to fix the problem, so it looks like it's stalemate.
On the plus side, I've run Napster on the same PC as VDJ before now, and it seemed to work fine. Just make Napster's music directory a favourite in the VDJ broswer, and use the Napster software to download stuff on the fly. Seems to work ok for me doing it that way...
Incidentally, for the Global Database to work (such as it does!) you need to be a Napster To Go subscriber, although if you're doing it the way I suggested, any Napster account should be fine.

I have the subscription account with Napster and never have problems with the global database...other then not having internet access. Not quite sure what your issue is. The only time I get the error message is if the song is a purchase only song and I try to access with the Napster to Go account. Maybe the music you're trying to get just so happens to be that.

Nah, when I try it using the global database, it comes up with an error 9 times out of 10 on average, so I don't think its a purchase only issue. Don't know if it's something to do with my internet connection or my computer, but that feature has never worked on any version of VDJ for me at least... :-)
