VDJ Doesn't seem to be reading my tags... anyone else having this trouble? Is there something I can do short of renaming all of my files to make it work? Thats not really an attractive option as I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 60,000 files that would need to be changed.
I do have the tag option set to read title & comment as well as write tags. I vaguely recall using the registry editor on my PC to tweak... is there an equivalent I need to look at for Mac?
Thanks!

thanks jchiar - Chrisbo is actually a close friend of mine, I didn't even know he was on these forums. And in fact he was having the exact same trouble I am having now.
It seems that the best answer is Tag&Rename programs.... but as I mentioned I am not really excited by that prospect with over 60k files to deal with. And as he mentions, I like knowing which collection the song came from as some versions are better than others. This is a new problem for me as I previously used PCDJ FX (which reads and searches tags well) and my naming convention is exactly the same as his (he helped me set it up about 5 years ago).
So currently my real trouble is - On the PC version, I can at least see the tag info in the browser even though it doesn't come up in a search. On the Mac version I can so far only see the filenames in my browser.
I think that, while VDJ is easily the greatest DJ Software solution on the market, it is a fair criticism that VDJ does not make better use of MP3 tags.... I really applaud the developers for what they have done so far but I would like the program even better if tag searching became a priority.
Thanks!

Yeah I second that. I love mp3 tag support, but i have cleaned most of my file names up.
I get around this name issue by using the * in the search field, HOWEVER this seems to be an issue where you cant type anything other that lowercase letters in the search box.
I am hoping this will be fixed soon. When it is, I will be ready for GIGS with this puppy!

For Tag & Rename on Mac I found Music Renamer works ok but I'd like something that gives more options. Is anyone using anything different on Mac?
Thanks!
Thanks!
