Hi, I would love to try out VDJ on Mac, will there be a Mac version demo available soon?

I understand that professional version users may download the Mac version for free. It would be great if a Mac demo was available to everyone.

Thanks!

Yes, soon.

I would assume that Atomix wants to make the Mac version as stable and functional as possible before releasing a public demo.

The "biggest" obstacle right now with VDJ Mac is the "font problem" which doesn't allow us to see the music and video file names.

That's not really a big problem though, and should be resolved in the next few days.

Joefresh, It looks and feels like the PC version, and thats available as a demo. If you have a PC to give it a whirl on.

Whats your MAc specs? We could tell u how it would run in the meantime.

Thanks jchiar,

I have a 13" Macbook, 2 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 1 GB SDRAM, 120GB hard drive, Intel integrated graphics, DVD burner.

I have Boot Camp running on my Macbook and I've run Virtual DJ on it with no problems (surprisingly). I just hate the hassle of having to boot up with Windows just to run VDJ, especially since I have all my playlists set up on iTunes on Mac OS X. It'd be great to ditch Windows completely.

I'd be interested to know if the Mac version will be more stable than the PC version, I would think it would be since Mac is notoriously more stable than PC in many regards.

I think it's a good thing the Mac version is virtually identical to the PC version, should make it a painless switch for everyone.

joefresh,

I have been stating for a while, that I think the Mac books will be fine with Videos.

I have a Dell with the same video card, smaller processor and memory specs and it Runs VDJ great.

Not sure about vitualizations on the Mac book because they were CPU intensive on my dell..

Perhaps someone who has a macbook can comment for this guy? I have an Imac and it has a beefier video card.

VDJ is a Universal Binary application, so it will run on your PowerPC based Mac as well.

Demo will be out shortly.

The Mac version was just released. There are no older versions of VDJ for Mac. Virtual DJ for Mac is only available to the Pro users at the moment. There are no Demos yet available. If you want the Mac version, You will have to purchase Virtual DJ Pro for Windows.
