Topic: iCDX for MAC

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

i'm very happy to see the release of vdj for mac, as i'm preparing to make the switch over, i need to find out what works and what doesn't. Does anyone know if the iCDXs work with MAC yet? and which sound cards work? i own a u46dj and from reading another post, it's apparently not supported yet? thanks in advance for the help!

I have installed VDJ on my MAC and can report that my awesome ICDX's are supported, I can see the song names and artists in the read outs and can stop, start, pitch and scartch my videos, they work as they do on the my PC but I'm having issues with the file folders, I can't see the contents in them. The software is not showing me the names of the songs or artists when in the folder display window, until I scan the disc and then only when I drag the colored MPEG or MP3 icons into the player. The other problem is I cannot find a mixer option for the Numark CM200 USB, which is supported on the PC but I can use a USB gigaport card to solve this problem, the problem with the songs, this is a huge mystery and makes DJing with the software a non starter until I figure it out or someone more MAC savvy can help?

So, I am thinking of getting at least one or possibly 2 iCDX for VDJ mac. One question - Do they also act as the sound card for VDJ when used as a controller?

Thanks!

The ICDX's do not act as a sound card, they act as USB controllers for Virtual DJ. You will need a sound card for sure.

awesome - thanks! I looked all thru the iCDX manual, but never thought to check the manual for Cue. Duh.

the TAP button is equivalent to the sync button for cue

The CM200 USB should show up as a sound card on the mac. Does it not? AFAIK , it is a standard USB sound card.

Can you play any audio (itunes ex) out this sound card?
