I will go mad immediately. I am looking for and I didn't find :( Does VDJ support multi-core cpu's? I am wondering what is better for VDJ (A/V mix):
- single core cpu (2 GHz Pentium M)
- dual core cpu (1,66 GHz Duo Core T2400 or T5500)
Now I have Pentium M 1,73 GHz and 1GB Ram, HDD is ata100 5400 80GB. When I mix A/V CPU work on 95%-100% and mix is uncomfortable. The more inexpensive option is the exchange of the CPU on bigger. I found in VDJ spec:
The recommended configuration is:
* PIV 3 GhZ computer
* 1024x768 SVGA video
* 4.1 DirectX compatible soundcard (with front and rear separate outputs)
* 1024 MB RAM
* 200 MB free on the hard-drive

Yes a dual core processor is really better and will work very well with VirtualDJ

I am using a Core 2 duo processor and VDj will not work with it. I have to open VDJ as usual, then ctrl+alt+del to open the task manager ( while VDJ is open ) , and from there right click on VDj in the processes tab, and open the " set affinity " menu. With my dual core i have to disable "CPU 0" to make VDJ 4.3 run. I have emailed tec support and they are working on a fix for this. Until then, all you fellow Core 2 Duo people out there, remember to do this or you will get the " crash guard " window. At least if you are trying to mix video you will. Not sure about audio only tracks.

Your case is only linked to a problem with a video and it's very specific. Do not generalise too fast.

Just out of interest, do we know what it is that makes willk have the problem? are there certain processor models we should avoid?
