can the hercules mk1 be used with virtual dj 4.1,
will latencey affect this console,

VDJ 4.x fully supports the mk1 console, and it will even work better in 4.x than the 3.4 home version you are currently using.

Latency you can auto set in 4.x and it will work good with Hercules.

If you mean "unresponsive" buttons on the MK1, that can't be fixed.
Its a hardware problem.
The buttons on the Mk1 is not very sensitive, so you have to press them firm and hard.

(fixed on the Mk2 console)

one other quick ? can the hardware be upgraded to the mk2 updates?

yes,, but don't download 2007 driver,, made for vista.. use the 2006 driver and upgrade the mapper...

what are the differencec between the hercules mk1 and mk2 mixer,

the one major diference between them is that mk2 is a 4 channel input and 4 chan output wich means 2 stero inputs and 2 stereo outputs souncard and it can be used with turnatables for time coded vinyls or with cd players for time coded cds.
also the problems with the cue-play buttons is fixed.
as an owner of mk1 i think that mk2 is more complete.
