Who is running it? How does it work?

I just did a fresh re-install of xp, but I'm contemplating trying out vista.

I may Boot Camp vista on here this week but I have to clear off some space on my hard drive first because vista is SUCH a lean and efficient OS. *cough* bloatware *cough". =)

I've seen the reports of how "good" it is compared to xp. That's like saying, "This is great! This case of the bubonic plague is so much more bareable!".

I may just wait until Mac OS X Leopard gets released shortly though to try out vista.

Then it'll be just like having Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard 2007 and Mac OS X 10.0 Cheetah 2001 (vista) on my Mac! =P

vista will be a "fun, blast to the past"... without the fun of course.

Leopard will be a HUGE leap into the OS future though. ;)

I'm using xp via bootcamp on my MBP C2D 2GB 160GB X1600 256MB. The operating system runs well. VDJ runs just OK.

Conquest, I hope you're not considering replacing XP for vista on your main performance machine. From what I hear, media apps run like s#it on vista. Since I'm pretty sure we use the same computer (or close), would you mind sharing a picture of your vdj performance pane? what soundcard are you using?

The two problems I currently face with my MBP/Bootcamp/XP/VDJ rig is that you are limited to using DVI or VGA for your video output. The apple s-video dongle only works in OS X. Also, if I try to play videos without my maya44 or serato box as the soundcard (using the internal card), I get some very weird audio stutters and video hangups. I would only use the internal card for a previewing tracks at home (not at gigs) but the problem is still annoying.

Well NOW I'm not! You scared me! =P

Nah, I was just gonna install it to test it out and then dump it back to xPee before a performance.

I'm just using an MK2 for right now until the Numark sound card comes out. Then I'll get a midi mixer like the Mackie d.4 and some 3rd gen vinyl.

It works with a scan converter. I have to get one of those this week because a weekly Saturday club that me and my turntablist partner Jimnastyc start this week has all of their projectors and displays connected via composite RCA video to 1 main controller box.

Anesome's probably better suited to answer that one since he uses an SSL card.
