or instead of encoding them just simply rename the .vob file to .mpg. But theres no need to do that because vdj plays .vob files. A vob file is a mpg file.

I'd also recommend using DVD decrypter.... this works even better than the DVD RIP from VDJ (Sorry)...

I've got some commercial DVDs and this progy works great (and it is free, just google it).

The VOB to MPG issue is correct, just rename .vob to .mpg

If you have LOTS of these files, you might consider looking at "FLASH RENAMER" it can rename files so fast... I love this program actually...

If I was working on a "BILLY JOEL" DVD and used DVD Decrypter, and done by chapters (sorry, the proper way doesn't come to mind), I'd end up with all these .vob files. I can use flash renamer to take a all the files what would look like something-something01.vob and change it to Billy Joel - 01.mpg... then I can watch the file and learn which song it is and manually edit for Billy Joel - Piano Man.mpg... all I had to add was Piano Man, not mpg and Billy Joel.
