msn messengers main servers have gone a bit wacky
the fix is to ;)
Open with Notepad: C:Windows\System32\Driversetc\hosts
Add these 2 lines to the bottom:
65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
65.54.239.80 dp.msnmessenger.akadns.net
Save it and restart WLM/msn
Make sure you remove it in say 2 days
by then hopefuly they will have sorted them selvesout
enjoy :)

Will this allow access to emails in hotmail, because for the past few hours i havn't been able to access them.
My msns working fine, although it might be because i was logged in before the server went down or whatever the problem is

Thanks for the tip mr. sky, yes I have had this problem, first noticed it this afternoon, it took me about 41 minutes to connect to MSN.

yeah. im currently home from uni due to glandular fever but i'm goin bk on sunday, going to miss the internet!!! :'o( boo!! lol. its true though. lol another example s the batteries in my wii controller running out the other night. was running around the house looking for some spairs lol

That IP hack is a bit of an urban legend, spread all over the net.
So if enough users use it, it will break down too ;)
Just use :
http://webmessenger.msn.com/ web MSN
until MSN have sorted out servers ...

it isnt a hack as such it just directs you to the reserve dns for the servers
you can use about 10 of them
just ping those hosts :)
to get them

this issue is now solved please remove these lines if you used them they acquired nice new serverfarms for loging in:)
