i use the 3.4 version. when i try to load long files (70+ minuts,mp3) the first file will load but the other one (on the other turntable) will not load properly (i will be able to play it but it will often be unstable or skip). my laptop has the t2050 dual core + 1024 ram. i dont think its a hardwere problem.

Go into your config panel and change the max load settings to always.
Please note that this may have adverse effects on the system, especially if you're loading 70+ mixes.
This topic has been covered a few times...and somebody once asked "why bother using a dj software such as VDJ if all your going to do is play 70 minutes of already mixed music?"
Why not just stick it on a disc and play it through a cd player...and use VDJ for something a bit more creative?

glad to say after 21 years of working as a dj i do not use cd players anymore! i do use the vdj for the more creative stuff but i want to use it for everything! (isnt it what its all about?)

True, but at the end of the day, what would you do if you were in the middle of a bouncing set and the whole gig was jumping and having a great time...and your machine crashed??? How would you cope with that? Tough call, but it's happened, and still does happen to a few of us. (Ok, not me personally, but still...)
Always have a backup!!!
As for the max setting issue...is it mp3's you're loading? Just as a matter of interest. Until recently, I always used .wma files, and a 70 minute wma would surely have killed my 'rather pert' gig machine. Since changing to mp3's, I have no such issues. This may be a point to look at as well.
You could try the whole 'lower the performance tab all the way to the left (fastest) and select the autolatency for your soundcard' trick...that seems to work for alot of us.
Also, turn off any background services on your laptop that you don't need...like all of them!!! The background services take alot away from VDJ. I'm not saying that this is what's causing your problems, but it may well be a contributary factor. What OS are you using?
Don't use a home machine for gigs as well. Don't know if your current setup is music only machine, if it is, that's the way to go. So many users have home machines that they use for gigs, without realising all the 'faults' that home machines can have...you know, like being loaded with cyberjunk, too many installs and stuff like that.
Ideally, your gig machine should only have the following installed on it:
OS
Music
VDJ
Sound/Graphics drivers and software if need be.
Not to mention it should be nice and fast with lots of hard drive space and bundles of memory!
Anyway, getting back to your issues...sorry for going off on one...try the OS tweaks found here (providing of course you're using XP).
When you load big files into VDJ, it taxes RAM and CPU, hence the more the better. Big files like these will need alot of resources to load, which can tire your system out a bit.

One of my silly moments. I also don't get the 70+ mix, but to each his own. Is this your only issue with VDJ? Why are you still using 3.4?

as for backup - i still use my old sony pro md players and my emazing soundcraft dj1000 mixer.
after about 1500 events in my career im proud to say that i never "crushed" a party!
hope to get full computer backup soon (money money money). as for your suggestions - tried them all - no change! sorry
as i read in this forum - its a known bug and theres nothing much to do.
so ill use the wmp for long files.
