Has anyone solved the problem with the LAME.DLL file.. I'm still getting the impossible to save error..
I thought it might had something to do with using windows xp and a slow laptop.. just upgraded to a Sony vaio with windows vista running @2ghz duo..with 2gb ram.. and still getting the same error..
Any suggestion other than "reducing the bit rate to 92kbps" as this works but ruins the quality of what your recording....??
P.S Credit to VDJ... Using 2ghz duo with 2gb ram ROCKS.... NO MORE SNAP CRACKLE AND POPS.

might be an idea to try a fresh install
back up your database files from the program folder
mp3database.txt
virtualdjdatabase.xml
virtualdjdatabase(yourname).xml
now uninstal
and use philly djs reg cleaning tool.
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/tools.html
and then reinstall and place back your database
and try again :)

Tried a clean re-install and still no luck... i had this problem with xp using a toshiba laptop.. and now im using vista with a sony vaio 2ghz-duo with 2gb ram and the same results... could this be a problem with rip vinyal itself...?

Sky Check this... When i install VDJ from scratch all at face value seems to be okay. I then launch Rip/V (locate the lame.dll as asked) hit the record button then save with no problems, other than the mp3 conversion being poor quality.. when i change the bit rate this is where the problems start. I then get the "impossible to save" error.. Now if i change the bit rate down to 92kpbs then all seems okay other than the quality of the recording is very poor. Now this was happening to me whilst i was using Windows XP on a Toshiba laptop... Now I'm using windows vista on a Sony vaio Fe41z 2ghz duo with 2gb ram and the problem remains the same.. I'm now thinking that this problem is to do with Rip vinyl itself.. Your comments please sky...? Thanks buddy...!
