Can I use an external USB Video Card on my tower to show karaoke and/or videos over a tv?

there are not many cards

i recomend you use a good pci express card if your pc supports it

or a good AGP card

of 256mb or more.

I have no slots, so it's either a usb video card or another puter. The video card is cheaper naturally... if it works.

You might get away with it for karaoke, as the graphics aren't very intensive, but I think any USB card would struggle with playing music videos...

Cyder's the video guru round here... what do you think dude?

You CANNOT play videos through the USB video card (only in Window mode) but you can do karaoke! I have an Nvidia card and a USB Video on the same machine it allows me to have 3 different displays

1= My screen
2= Pub Screens (Nvidia) for videos
3= Singer screen (USB Video) for karaoke

Allows me to match videos to the karaoke song while sending words to the singer and videos of the song or words out to audience.
