i was having the same problem! one side would read 100% and the other would give me a message saying it didnt find any TCV but the waveforms were there and it worked fine. I tried everything to fix it then i swapped the needles and it worked so it must have something to do with the needles. My needles are angled so i dont think that has nothing to do with it and most people dont use needles that require headshells so this shouldnt be the problem and if it is then something needs to be fixed. I am still getting feedback from the one side that does register when i press stop on my turntable. it isnt a silent sound and i cant figure out why

Hi I have a Stanton DiscMaster II. Does anybody tryed it with TCV Gen3. I want to buy TCV Gen3, but if I cannot get them to work with DiscMaster II I will wait for this to be fixed...
Thanks
Thanks
I tested ... it will work but is very bad on backspinns and vibrations

my first thing would be to ask if you read the part about angling the cart on the headshell. i can't tell from your pictures whether they are angled or not. would need a top shot oh the headshell for that.
yes...they are angled properly (i'm still playing normal vinyl and also working perfect on GEN1or2)
Well...in general what i tried and also work with 100% TC was only the banana style cartridges.
The other ones i mension above are not working on the GEN3.
Who tried an "Elliptical stylus" and what are the results ?
I don't now anymore...i'm going back to my GEN2 :(

Got this problem also when i'm trying to setup the TC signal manually.

if that happens you need to adjust the silence control. honestly..........this has been explained, didn't it use to be a sticky? maybe atomix should sort it out and release 'auto config' options
auto config: GEN1
auto config: GEN2
auto config: GEN3
because lets face it, whats the point of auto config if it only works with the old vinyls?
either sort out auto config or put a "How to configure timecode manualy" in the manual
this forum is great but there are some things that should just WORK without having to study it (or atleast be explained properly in the manual)

well if you have to drag sliders around "manually", is it even "auto-config" any more at that point?

I wish i can send one of my cartriges to a teamer on this forum to try....

Yesterday i tried every possible combination on the manual config, also angle/tracking weight on the neddle with no results.
So how many people having this isue so far?
For me... i have two options, go back to the GEN2 or buy banana cartridges.

Funky-t did you try lowering the input levels on the soundcard?
Posted Tue 06 Mar 07 @ 3:20 pm
yes i did...i'm using Maya44USB
Posted Tue 06 Mar 07 @ 3:38 pm
while having the inputs on the maya lowered a bit, try lowering the gain on the tc signal before hitting auto config, uncheck riaa pre amp. Also try to configure on the 1st min marker then jump to each min after that while doing an auto config for each min. You can lower all the setting in the config and try to manually set the TC.

Well i need a teamer who lives in Canada.

Not needed... i'm using the same needles and sometimes it doesn't want to calibrate on the 1st try but it does fine after 2-3 times, so its not your tcv.

of course it isnt :S who said it was?
what im saying is that they should sort out the auto-config so it works with the new vinyls and stop people having to mess with doing it manualy
(although in a separate point; if you are getting the song 'creeping' when the deck is stoped, you need to raise the 'silence' threshold / get kit with a better signal to noise ratio)

TEAMERS......
This is what i found out:
1. I reinstall r1.2 and i get 100% TC ....but...the message "no time coding found bla, bla " ????? and i said what ??? ...believe me i tried neddle drop and was working like a needle drop.
2. then i went back to the r2.1 ...and nothing 0% and the message.
3. Wait.... i went back to the 4.0 and a nice 100% TC with no problem....hmm
4. Then i went back to r2.1 ... and nothing 0% TC plus the message.
...soo right now i tested the GEN3 on the r.1.2 and i won't go back to r2.1 because it's working OK.
maybe i'm the only one with this problem...but i don't think so....
...i don't care about the manual config on the r2.1 (to actually make it work) IT WORKS ON THE r1.2 or v4.0 (well, almost properly besides the message "you know what") PERFECT.
...this is what's going on on my laptop.

funky i'm using a u46 which has it own pre- amp and seems to config mostly fine
Posted Wed 07 Mar 07 @ 2:38 am
Mine it has "that" pre-amp too, and still doesn't "config mostly fine" ...Listen "listen2" hehehehehehe....i have "maya44usb".... read what i said or explained on my previous posts.
...don't wanna be rude man...but read what i tried all this time.
I did all the "pre-amp thing" UP and DOWN and no 100% TC so far only 0%.

Funky ... the maya44 does not have its own built-in pre-amp like the u46 does which might make the difference, since then you then do not have to use the one in the software.
I'm only trying to throw ideas i have tried with success, so beyond that i don't know what to tell you. I running the same needles as you are and i'm able to auto configure gen3 tcv fine. You may have discovered that 4.2 in certain setups may have the same issue but so far i have not heard of any others. The config as far as i know was tweaked in 4.2 so perhaps it needs to be tweaked again as gen3 differ from gen2 tcv's.

...has the pre-amp thru the asio config levels input.
When i get home i'll post some screen shots to see better what's going on, thanks for your help man, i do really appreciated.
Regarding this problem, just wait for the screen shots, it could be the problem only with Maya44 card, i don't know.

Funky T - your not alone man! One of my channels will auto config and read 100% the other would not. I tried reversing all my wires to my mixers and all but it didnt fix the problem. When i switched my needles from one to the other the opposite channel would auto config so i assumed it was my needle. but i tried another spare needle I had and the same problem so im still tring to figure out what i have set up wrong myself. I also get alot of feedback out of my one channel that doesnt config. meaning if i have my turntable stopped and the crossfadder to that channel it isnt silent its like a buzzing noise coming from the speakers which i am concerned about. since i was using the trial version i thought it was only allowing me to use one channel but from what i heard its a full access trial. Im going to play around tonight and see what i can find out too man.
