Ok i've got my soundcard set up as follows:
Ive gone
"outputs" = Headphones
"soundcard" = mono separated, so one speaker can now be used for cueing.
The question I need to know is = "does this now mean my recordings etc will now come out in mono as one of the outputs is being used as my headphones?"?

No... Your using a separate input to record. The play back will be mono but the actual file you recorded will be stereo..!
