Hello, this is going to be fairly complex and it really is an emergency because I have very important gigs on Friday and Saturday! Some of you have probably seen some of my previous posts of problems, but I will give you a quick backround anyway. I used to use VDJ with a DXM1USB mixer, which has usb slots with two soundcards in the mixer and plugs into the computer\'s usb. It worked great and I decided to upgrade to TCV. I bought TT\'s, a U46DJ, and two TCV\'s. One of the TCV had 100% quality and the other would jump around (however, this has proven to be the last of my worries now!) . I then downloaded the 1.020 version of the U46DJ driver in hopes of fixing this. This didn\'t mess up my computer at first and I used VDJ a few times, but, after a few uses, when I would try to open VDJ, it would come up with a blue error screen and restart my computer. I asked questions in the forum and still haven\'t found a solution (once again this is not my main worry at the moment). For my show Friday, I simply just want to use VDJ with my DXM1USB mixer again, but when I use it now, the sound is very crackly and distorted! I uninstalled the U46DJ drivers and reinstalled VDJ and that did not help. I am wondering if something I did before with trying to get TCV working may have contributed to this, being that it worked fine before I bought all of the TCV components. I would like to get all of these problems straightened out sooner or later, but for now I just really want the distorted sound to go away so I can do these gigs this weekend! I must say that I am quickly losing patience with VDJ\'s lack of \"official\" soundcards and other components for TCV use and it has led me to this debacle. I want to still love this program! If anybody can help me here I would be very appreciative! Thank you. -Mike

vdj has the numark virtual vinyl box :)
this is their solution
check ur irqs for any conflicts this may lead to a system failure

Thanks Skyfxl, I didn't realize that these conflicts are also causing the distorted sound. I have been trying to follow the guide but it won't let me manually change the IRQ settings, which it said is common, but it still does not have a solution. The auto check button is greyed out. Also, when I check the properties and resources of each driver, they all say "no conflict detected." Do I maybe not have a conflict? I have a link here with a screenshot of my IRQ's so you can maybe help me diagnose the problem. Once again, Thank you for your time!

owch ur graphics and soundcard are both fighting for resources here and the modem is on that channel aslo
i would advise you change these irqs
right click on each device and press properties look for any free irqs you can use :)

i'm not sure if that is the issue, have you tried switching the sides the decks are on, or swapping the headshells/needles, just to eliminate any hardware issue.

yes i belive we tried this in an earlier discussion , aslo mate a bsod error , is a indication of a hardware conflict or hardwarefailure , and not reali related to headshells

Thanks for looking at it guys. Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the sound card and video card, but the problem is that when I right click on one of them and go to properties->resources, the "use automatic settings" is checked and it is grayed out so I can't uncheck it. The change settings bar is also grayed out. It briefly mentioned this possible problem in Skyfxl's guide, but it does not address how to change it. Does anyone know how to un-gray these buttons?

when your computer boots up Press F1 or F2 to load bios
look on here for IRQS and change them here manualy to the nearest free one , use the photo as a reference :) apply then exit the bios saving settings should now be changed

I dunno Skyfxl, from looking further into it, I've found that you need to disable ACPI (the HAL that doesn't let you change the IRQ's) and load a different HAL to change the IRQ's in Bios. Basically this can really mess up your computer and force you to reinstall your OS. Is any of this true? I followed your advice and there is no IRQ settings in bios. I think the whole HAL thing is required. Have you ever done this? Here is a link to a message board on it. http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windows/t-4116-XP-wont-let-me-change-IRQ-numbers.html

Another thing, I disabled my soundcard and restarted my computer in hopes of solving the conflict but it did not help. Is this a sign that I don't have a IRQ conflict, or that the IRQ conflict is not between my video card and sound card like we suspected?

well the Dial up modem and the soundcard and the video all clash which is almost a text book example of an issue try dissabiling the the dial up phone modem aslo

yeah I disabled that too and it still has the same problem. I might just reinstall the entire OS and all the drivers. Would that maybe help?

yes this could solve the curruption which is leading to the blue screens of death

Hey Skyfxl, I reinstalled the OS and my VDJ is not having anymore blue screens and the sound is not distorted. I checked the IRQ's and the vid card and sound card are still both on the same number...haha. However, I had to do the gigs without TCV, with my mixer and my mouse. The same problem with the "nudging" TCV where the recognition quality jumps around is there. It definitely is not the carts or any other hardware. The weird part is that I messed around with hitting the autoconfig button at different times during it jumping around and sometimes it will actually stay at 100% but it is then not reliable and will sometimes skip, especially if you actually touch the vinyl. Any other thoughts about the screenshots? By the way, thanks again for the error screens advice! Both shows this weekend went well!

and you choose autolatency right
are the needles in good shape which ones do you use?

Hey Skyfxl, yeah I have autolatency set. My cartrdridges are in decent shape; I am using Shure M25C. Also, (just to recap, one channel works perfectly and one jumps around) so to test the cartridges, I switched them between tables and the same channel has problems, so I don't think it's my needles. One thing, is that there is no real good place to connect the ground wires to my PC. I currently have them loosely connected to two small screws by the external screen connector. These are the only screws to connect to. Could this maybe be the problem? Can I connect these to my mixer instead? If it's not the grounding problem then I would think it would be a U46DJ driver problem? What do you think? Thanks!

try grounding to any metal part of your pc case
try this driver :)
