I have a couple of questions about that video.

1) The hotplate that was under the laptop forcing the battery failure; What temperature was it set at to cause the battery failure?

2) Is this unknown temperature likely to occure in normal day to day use?
3) Is this just a scare video that shows the destruction of a laptop that while looking neat - doesn't serve any purpose?

3) When the Fire started did they turn the hotplate off and allow the cascade effect to take place normally? Or did they continue to force the failure?

4) Would the second battery fail in such a spectacular way if they had NOT previously smashed it with a hammer?

Nice vid, but very questionable science.

yes laptops can get that hot if a fan failed

or not alowing air to get to your laptop

the smashed battery was similating a badly constucted or damage battery

laptops do explode iv had one do it =)

but the video was mainly for people who like mindless destruction lol
