I use the free limewire mp3 sharing site, are there any other good quality sites like that, that maybe are more geared towards club anthems?

Limewire Mp3s are illegal, usually crap bitrate, and also have (intentional) errors in them...
These errors can be noize and bugs trying to crash your media player (inc VDJ).
So use a serious club anthem shop like real djs use, buy it from:

Thats 100% correct...
These days P2P programs are flooded by corrupt MP3 files by the Music Industry itself, and these mp3's can not only crash any audio program, have noise and bad parts that make you look like a fool as a dj, but also contain "spyware", worms, and other malware...
DONT DOWNLOAD ILLEGAL MP3s.. if you want to be safe...
And 320b coded mp3 on limewire is VERY OFTEN not 320b, but rather 128b.. with errors
Just an advice... Buying music legally these days cost very little ;)

spyware companys aslo can now hyjack computers via unsafe mp3s by forcing a user to download a licence codec to play the song which infact is a downloader program for all other sorts of nastyness

The thing I don't understand is: how can a virus be executed from a MP3 file? It isn't executable! At best, it can freeze your PC if there are bugs in the codec (like it happened in Internet Explorer with some JPEG files), but IT CAN'T BE EXECUTED! Anyway, I download music from the Net just to listen if it's good enough, but as I'm NOT a DJ, I don't use it for mixing. There are some downloaded files which aren't recorded well, but I delete them as soon as I hear they aren't good. There's one thing to remind: check the varoius name the file has over the P2P net before downloading, because some files have multiple filenames, so this directly means that they're FAKE.
I'm not encouraging P2P sharing: I'm using it because I have NO money, and I don't even mix, and I don't upload anything... It's just for "educational purpose". My parents don't want me to use a credit card AT ALL, and I have no music shops in the place where I live, so... where the hell can I get music for MYSELF?

which then points at a download location of the viruses or spyware
and on most machines windows media services automaticaly download the rest of the licence
so they get u that way :(

There are various MP3 "infections", and all directs back to the Music Industry making them...
Release fake files, with spyware, fake licences..
And until recently , the virus threat was a hoax spread by them.. But it now seems they did make it possible:

I havent had any mp3 virus though, but PLENTY of corrupted mp3s... so dont use p2p ;)
They arent REAL viruses, but exploits song name look-up services, tag / licence look up etc..
Not sure what harm they can make, but some say they have had ruined mp3 collections
so be carefull

If you do use P2P, remember to make backups then (but you MUST make backups in order to keep data safe!)

Oh yes, this is a thing that I hate: I ALWAYS have to show the extension after installing Windows...
Anyway, I remind you that if you want to use P2P you have to TRIPLE check that filenames are always the same in all the downloading sources!

dude you gotta be kidding.....the trax sound terrible low bitrate and amateurs manipulating these trax,plus mislabeled,and all kinds of nasty stuff (worms) put out there on purpose
the days of spending $20 for that one track on the album are very nearly gone......
beatport is an awesome sight w/ very fast downloads and a definite european flavor....
napster and yahoo have a gillion songs for 99 cents....
i don't see how it's a problem to afford for any reasonably successful dj...........

I cannot understand why people are still using p2p software to illegally dload music, specially DJs!
A friend of mine was hired for a weekend to play at a bar, after the first night he was told that they didnt want him back for the next night. It turnes out since he was using some of their equipment they were recording his mix, the whole night! A friend of his who was there the next night recognized the mix and let him know. Sad!
Can you djs out there imagine if clubs just started playing prerecorded mixes? All of us would be out of a job. We have to give the support we expect to get.
Get it together guys, the cost of single tracks costs peanuts now, its not as expensive as it once was to build your music libraries. There are a million sites and services out there to legally buy music, many of them will give you discounts and incentives, so why do people keep screwing up their computers with all the crap that comes with p2p sofware? I dont understand!
It really ticks me off when i see people using p2p sofware.

And Recently iTunes.
Might Look into Napster/Urge/ few others.
Since Trying iTunes I really like the High Quality tracks and FAST downloads. Much faster than Any p2p I used to use.

hate to say it but i know some really kick ass dj's who just plain cant afford to buy their tunes. bad business decisions, child support, poor/ruined credit, or who knows what, doesnt matter - sometimes you bend the rules to get where you need to be.
wish there were a magic solution to all of it, but there just aint.
