I seem unable to add other video sources (like dvd players) to my output video image. This is because the video signal from Virtual DJ seems to malfunction when the source is broken (like running it through a video mixer, in order to switch the output with outher video sources like a dvd player). Therefore I concluded that all audio and video mixing must be originate with in V.-DJ in order to minimize problems. BUT, if I'm playing a number of songs without videos, the beat synced visuals option in VDJ gets old after a while, and I would like to play alternative video visuals in the same way in which you are able to play "static Image" slide shows when no video is available. PLEASE HELP!

This is one feature I'd like to see...
Guess you can do it now, by running two instances of VDJ, with one running videos muted.
But would be nice to have as a built in feature

you can use the sonquie video plugin to show a visual
in the mean while
here is a pack of visuals :)
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/download.html?addon_id=2457
just extract them into the video effect folder in the virtual dj program folder
on the fx tab , and on the video plugin tab choose sonquie
then load the sonquie files
then go to the video tab
and tick the "always show video plugin when playing mp3s " and select plugin sonquie
goodluck!

If you run two instances of VDJ is there any way to beat sync (or midi sync) them with each other as they do with channel 1 and 2 (with a single version)? Maybe a plug-in etc.?

there is not a rewire funtion yet :(
just on an experimental basis
what happens if you go to the networking tab and put localhost
or your own ip adress
in the box

You must use BEATLOCK on one of the instances, to get the sync bpm clock

You guys are the best, does the beat sync work with any midi input on the computer or only from another vdj audio source?

currently vdj to vdj at the moment only
but many have asked rewire as a new feature

VDJ to VDJ good enough for now (I'll wait to hear about a third video channel plug-in discussed above). But A++++++++++++++++++++++ to Virtual DJ and you for the instant reply and support! Very impressed! Well worth every penny I spent for the software!
