Hi, was wondering if you all could recommend a solid preamp, so I can record my scratches, mixes onto my laptop with cd like quality. I'm using a Mac Book for a side note.

Are u trying to record from cd or vinyl to your laptop? just use the line in and a mixer. you don't need a preamp most soundards have preamp stages built in the line and mic input

Trying to record from Vinyl to my laptop via Garage Band software. When I try recording from my mixer to my line in, it's really buffered down with a dull sound as well. I'm using numark tables, along with a numark DM1002MKII mixer.

It's not configured correctly that's all, the mixer is already a preamp. open your sound card properties and see how the levels are set and if the input line is enabled, is the software configured to take input from the line in? also might wanna also check your wires...sorry that theres not much more I can help you with, but I'm not really familiar with sound settings on your system. I'm sure one of the other users can guide you a little than more than myself..
Good Luck
