Topic: SWA1501 Makie Active Subwoofer

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Does anyone can give me some input on these subs ?

It say that they are 600 Watts RMS, I just need a comparison beetwen these and JBL MP418SP ( 600 Watts RMS) Active subwoofer.

Thanks

jbl has a 600w crown dual channel amp (the second channel can power the satelitte speakers) it's also alot bigger (18"). Mackie is actually 500w rms single channel and only a 15"...if you have the money i would go for the jbl

And if you have help. I never buy anything I can't lift up a flight of stairs, by myself. I have the 1501's and they do the job just fine. I bring at least 1, to every job.

Have used both and Mackie's sound better. If you are looking for a little more power they do have an 18" powered sub that is incredible. Is a little on the heavy side for one person, but the sound goes right through you.... hope this helps. You might want to check out the Mackie sight they have more information on there speakers.

I charge extra for stairs also. I also use a Chrysler Town & Country, and can fit 2 1501s and 5 450s in it. The fifth one is used as a monitor. Along with a full light package.

There are some things that bother me about the software. One is the skip when I use the kill button, the first time. Ver 4 is not here. I will get here, when it gets here. I have no control over it. I have some choices. I can just forget about using it at all. I can take a chance and hope it doesn't skip. Or, I can remember to use it, when I first open VDJ, and it won't skip. I do not have the option of using ver 4, because it is not here. So I don't jump up and down about it. I went through the same thing with my other software. It worked fine for me, but did not work for others. I understand anticipation, but the constant "are we there yet" is beyond me. I know the company is working hard, but I have an idea. The natives are restless, so throw them a bone every now and then. " Hey guys, I know it's been awhile since our last report, so this is what's happening." The beta testing of Ver 4 is going very well. All of the features have been added, and we are working on the final version. We are working on a few bugs, but things look very good. We have not decided on a date yet, so please don't ask. We are not releasing any info about features at this moment. We will release another report in 10 days, so please bare with us. We thank you for your patience.

Thank you very much to all for the input.

I also prefer the JBL MP418sp and MP418S I know it has a dual CROWN 600 Watts RMS Amplifier, and the sond pretty good.

Thanks for everything

Peace !!!
