Topic: Can Anyone explain beat juggling?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I know how it works with turntables, but how does the juggling function work on vdj?

do you have to have the same songs in both decks like with turntables?

when do you engage the buttond, etc.... seems like a useful feature, but I can't seem to figure it out!

Thanks!

It is the same as using TTs :) VDJ with TCVs and there you go ;)

BEAT JUGGLING:
This technique is performed by using two records and manipulating the arrangement of the elements (drum sounds, headnotes, etc.) from both to create a new rhythmical composition.

You can do the same with VDJ.

play a track on deck 1......while its running look in your database for a track near or just about the same bpm put it on deck 2. Listen in your headphone for the first drum kick (not the snare) and cue it. Press beatlock on the new track on deck 2, when the time is right press play and crossfade it in or cut it in.....sometimes when your crossfader is in the middle and both tracks are synced and playing at the same time, its just magic because the snares stack up and it just blows up!

Cutta,
what you describe is beat mixing. This is not the same as beat juggling.
