A little tech; I am running athlon xp64 3000+ w/ 1 GB ram and an M Audio delta soundcard and onboard audio on the gigabyte motherbd... can i use the onboard as the cue channel, or do i just need to buy another (cheaper) secondary soundcard? any insight for this newbie would be much 'preciated!!

djdaddydave,

A sound card is a sound card, this on the motherbord is perfect for the cue channel.

But this fonction will only work with the full version of VirtualDJ 2.0

I am using two sound cards, but everytime i hook it up to my systems I have a '' humming''. Can someone tell me please why am i getting this noise, or is there some kind of cable you could refer me to.
Thanks

it sounds like an earth loop problem. are you using a laptop? these somtimes have a problem. make sure al your equipment is grounded properly

Unplug sum wires from your stereo amp, except for teh mixers wires.

deedrick check your power cables. Are any of them the 3 prong type? If so, either use an adapter to make it a 2 prong, or (this may sound extreme) break off the 3rd prong.
I had this happen the first time out years ago. I didn't have a 3-2 prong adapter, so I broke off the 3rd prong and all was fine.

feedback/interferance from powercables is a huge problem...

there are also "protected" sound-cables that will shut out interferance. They cost abit, but definitively worth it! :)

This has only happened in one or 2 facilities. It probably indicates some sort of grounding issue within the building. I wouldn't blame your equipment, just be prepared for it to happen every now and then.
