Ok, now that I am up and running I have started ripping cd's, I have ripped a couple using media player 10 but i have to go in and adjust artist and title etc. Is there a better program for doing this?

I don't do much audio anymore... mostly video now.
ONE MAJOR BIT OF ADVISE with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10... Turn off the copy protection (DRM?) feature... otherwise your songs MAY NOT play in VDJ...

As far as ripping CDs to MP3 or whatever, I think you have a pick of the litter. Cyder recommends something called MP3 Monkey or something... but if it is a free alternative, I'm not sure which is the best. There's a new one I saw in this months MaximumPC... called EAC (Exact Audio Copy)... www.exactaudiocopy.de I haven't tested it (I will in the next day or so). They also say to download the LAME encoder at http://mitiok.cjb.net BOTH are FREE... and like I said, it got a good review. This months edition of MaximumPC covers RIPPING DVDs and CDs....
