Hi,
Does anyone know if VDJ home edition will download ATRAC from Sony MD players. I have a web page to which I would like to add music downloaded from my MD player. I am just finishing up a radio show after 4 years in Europe and I am moving back to Canada. Many of my items were recorded directly off the radio signal using an MD unit. Now I would like to download segments onto my web page in MP3 format. There are so many software programmes out there that your head spins. Would home DJ be adeqaute for mixing the various formats?

Another question that I have has to do with connecting files. When radio shows are put together, this is done by recording separate tracks. Would I be able to connect MP3 music/voice tracks to make it flow as one single file which I could then drop onto the web page and the listener could hear it as one complete segment rather than having to sit around and click onto every file in succession as it finishes?

Just to give you an idea, click onto The Daily Jolt forum at mikeysboomercafe.com and you will hear one thing that I did but I would need to place around ten segments in succession in order to post a complete show.

One more question (possibly related): is it legal to play music by commercial artists on a web page without infringing copyright?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx,
Mike (The Old Guy)

if you want to just join up, and reformat at3 files (assuming you can get them off the MD raw) in the best quality then use an audio edit program like wavelab or soundforge etc. These programs will allow you to do the things you are looking for like join files and change the format of them.

EDIT: I think nero has some editing things like this but not as specialised i wouldnt think
