Get rid of omni mode! Make vdj be able to tell the differnce between midi channels and allow us to set them, the way you have it now we are limited to 127 controls and 1 midi device.

I'm always in for any kind of expansion :) Though I'm not sure Cyaderhouse how u use more than 127 controls with one midi controller? I mean, in what kind of way and which devices do you use?

Yes I understand that, I would just like to know his practical example. Specificly which devices and how does HE want to use them.

Because with midi drives and the dac-2 I can make the buttons do whatever I want them too but the left and right decks are on 2 differnt midi channels

teamers? If we can't have the xp10, why not give us this in the meantime :) I'm begging again today :)

Cyderhouse,

Why do you say taht you can't have the XP10 ?? just Wait and See.

The DAC-2 AND DMC1 are support, but we never do a mapper for this controler.

I see... But if you set the different controlls for different decks, the problem is solved, since all channels from dac 2 are detected, no? Though u "only" have 127, that's enough controlls for the dac 2 controller (and any other supported i think,...).

But yeah, you can't have more than one device then, so...
Guess you need an extention :)

Morris,

I'm not asking you to do a mapper for the dac controller. I'm asking for more than one midi channel that's all :)

its difficult to explain but the dac is a midi device but programed differntly

what cyderhouse is trying to say is that the left deck is assigned say midi channel 1 and the right deck midi channel 2. each of these channels has exactly the same conrtols and at the moment because midi is running in omni mode these 2 channels are combined so if you press play on the left deck they both play. by adding support for multiple midi channels these commands will be seperated. at the moment it is essentually like having 2 seperate midi controllers connected both set to the same commands

vdj being a profesional program really needs full midi support so as many controllers are fully compatable as possible. limiting the variety of controllers and their compatability will only push users away who already own controllers. a greater choice will attract a greater number of users.
