Microphone and Atomixmp3 are compatible ???

What's the deal with the microphone not recording????
 
When I press START RECORDING on Atomix, it only records whats being played in the programme itself. Not any other sounds, not from the mic, not from anywhere else on the hard drive. Why? I Need to use the mic.
