recently my crossfader has become stuck in the middle and although it moves to the lef or right it auto jumps back to the center, thus mixing is a real pain
i have just reinstalled my machine with xp and reinstalled atomix so evrything should be clean and working
any ideas?

Its look like a right button of mouse,
check your mouse and your skin (right click left click crossfader)

Got a joystick installed? Another thread mentioned a similar problem (not sure as this description was a bit vague: when does it jump back? all the time or when you let go of the button?) and the solution was to unplug the joystick as it could be used to control the crossfader
This actually got me thinking of a primitive homemated "joystick" made with a rheostat or some kind of slider-resistor to use as complimentary main crossfader.
My friend once built a PC-steeringwhell from an old wooden steeringwheel from a kidsize bobsleigh and a rheostat :)

unplug the joystick and the problem should be solved!
