A quick and dirty way to do this is to cut the middle frequencies.

Thats one thing I have to compliment AtomixMP3 for, their equalizer knobs are very well done. I can almost completly eliminate vocals, or certain samples out of songs just by cutting the mid, bass, or treble ranges. It's great for mixing, when you want to mix into another song, but it has a hi-end or low-end sample that really dosen't sound good with the first song. Just cut it out, then at a good beat throw it back in.
