Not in the slightest, I have got a very reasonable score on a Mensa test, yet I am pretty bad at mixing. I don't think it matters at all. Judge Jules was at University obtaining a Law Degree before launching his carrer as a superstar DJ, yet other DJ's better than him have never even been inside an establishment of higher education.
Mixing is about understanding music and having the innate ability to combine two tunes effectively and knowing how to reach the crowd with the music you play. It's a mind thing, a body thing, a soul thing. House Music, woohoo!
