Subject: Audio problem – volume increases by itself and echo at silent parts (VirtualDJ 2026 b9482)
Hello,
I'm using VirtualDJ 2026 build 9482 with an AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX4.
I have two audio problems:
1. The volume sometimes increases by itself during a song, especially when there is a quiet section or when the music becomes softer. It sounds like the audio level suddenly gets louder even though I do not touch any controls.
2. During silent parts, I hear an echo or delay. The last word or the last beat repeats by itself. This also happens at the end of recordings made in VirtualDJ. After the music has stopped, the last beat or sound is repeated a few seconds later and is recorded unless I quickly lower the master volume.
AutoGain is OFF, and I cannot find any Echo, Delay, or other FX enabled on the decks.
Could you please help me identify the cause? Is this a known issue with build 9482, a Master FX setting, an audio configuration problem, or a controller-related issue?
Thank you very much for your assistance.

1 you are too loud and hitting the limiter.

Thank you for your reply.
I understand your comment about the limiter. I will check my volume levels and make sure I am not hitting the limiter.
However, I would like to clarify that I have two separate issues:
1. The volume sometimes increases by itself during a song, especially when the music becomes quieter.
2. I also have an echo/delay problem: during silent parts, the last word or last beat repeats by itself. This also happens at the end of my recordings in VirtualDJ, where the last sound is repeated a few seconds later and gets recorded.
Could the second issue be related to another setting (Master FX, audio settings, or controller mapping)?
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help.
I tried your suggestion and lowered the gain/volume level, but unfortunately it did not change the problem. The same echo/repeat was still happening even with lower levels.
However, I did a reset of the VirtualDJ options back to the default settings, and after that the echo problem disappeared. I loaded the same song again and I could not reproduce the issue anymore.
It looks like there may have been a setting that was stuck or causing the problem.
I will continue testing to see if the volume increase issue happens again, but for now the echo problem seems to be fixed after the reset.
Thank you again for your assistance.
