I've posted this idea before. I'm currently working towards my masters degree in creative technologies. As part of the degree I will be producing dance music in Dolby Atmos format. I need a way to be able to DJ with that format.
I've done a few tests and found that Virtual DJ can already read a mp4 with Dolby Atmos or a ADM BWF .wav file. VDJ just folds the audio signal down to stereo.
If it were possible to output the signal to 12 or 16 channels. that could be routed to any other internal software such as a DAW or the Dolby Atmos Renderer. I was able to route the output of VDJ into Pro Tools using the Pro Tools software bridge (Stereo Only).
