Topic: Prime 4 FX
So I'm using my Prime 4 with a set of LC6000s. Everything works great except the fxs.

I have the LCs set as decks 3 & 4. The only way to activate fxs for those decks is to hit the deck swap buttons on the Prime 4. Now I have deck 3 or 4 on both the Prime and LC.

Shouldn't it work like this, If I have the FX button (1 or 2) lit up for its corresponding deck the once I press the fx on button for that deck, the fx will have some effect on the track??

Am I missing something there?? Because as of now I can NOT use fxs on decks 3 & 4 unless I have them showing on the Prime which in my mind defeats the purpose of having the LCs along side of the Prime.

Any help would be apprecatied..

Ok I'll make a video tonight so you guys can clearly see what I'm talking about.

I understand, no need to make any video.

It's how the Effects work in VirtualDJ. There is no Deck Assign functionality to map to the FX ASSIGN 1/2 buttons per Deck/Mixer Channel , so these were mapped to clone/copy the Effects of one Deck to the others. The Effects from Prime 4 apply to the Left/Right selected Deck.

A Custom Mapping can be done though. Will let u know in the next days.

PS. Do you use the Single FX mode or the Multi-FX mode (3 Fx Slots) ? Or both ?

The Multi-FX mode

I guess if the fx button is thats above the channel faders lit it would effect the corresponding deck, if that makes sense??

Thats how I envisioned it until I read through the manual.

I am trying to look into that, having the exact same issue.
The mapping does not seem to distinguish the different assign buttons. I wonder where I can find a way to make these available. Does anyone have a hint where I could look for these definitions?

I just sold the unit a while back. Didn't like how it worked with my LCs and I didn't like the layout with the FXs on the top in standalone mode so I sold it.

Please read DJDAD's message above (or indeed the VDJ manual). Simply put, VirtualDJ effects are assigned to each deck, not free standing modules available to any deck.

modules can be done similar to other software but it's complicated, needs both a complicated skin and mapping [I'm the only one to have done it] and it is not how vdj is intended to work with fx.

*edit & realisation*, I'm going to have to update for effect_list for existing clients, oh fun.

We actually do have various effect_arm* script to make this fairly easy now
