Topic: How to retrieve deleted files
This is on a Mac. I was dragging and dropping files from Mac Finder into the file list. I also moved some files around in Finder. It seemed like the VDJ File list was not updating so I decided to start over. I selected all of the files in the File List and pressed CMD+Delete. Now I can't find the files. They are not in the Trash folder. I searched my HD for some of the names but nothing turned up. When I performed the CMD+Delete, there was no popup stating that this would permanently delete the files including skipping the Trash folder. Is this what happened? Thanks.

CMD+delete only deletes the entries from the list they are dropped in. It will not delete the actual files, so these should still be on your computer where they were before.

I will second what @Adion has said - CMD-Delete only removes a song from a list for me. The song still exists at the original location and in my search database.

Okay, well I don't know what to say. I'm on a Mac using V2024-m b8336. All of my songs were in one folder and they are no longer there and not in the trash folder. When I search the entire hard drive they are not anywhere. It seems odd to me that they would at least be somewhere. Is there any other way I should be searching?

When you pressed the command, were you in a VirtualDJ file list or were you in Finder/viewing the actual folder location in VirtualDJ (i.e. under /Volumes),

A list in VirtualDJ is just a grouping that the software understands/uses to collect songs it know about - the list doesn't contain the actual file.
