Topic: Denon DJ Prime Go+ released
Well after all the leaks it's finally here (and instantly supported by VDJ)

Better battery
Slip mode buttons
Ethernet port taken away (but a USB dongle can be used)
Amazon music (yuck)
Silver instead of black

And that's about it. Hopefully EQ for the mic inputs has been added as pretty much everyone has asked for that. If missing it shows Denon aren't listening.

From what I've read Keith there is no EQ for the mic which will disappoint many people waiting and hoping for it.

I bought the Numark Mixstream Pro Go a year ago (looks very much the same) and have never used it at a gig. I take it along as a backup, but, what puts me off using it is because it has poor EQ on the mic. It can be altered in the settings but that's pretty useless in a 'live' gig. There are no dedicated knobs that can be manipulated 'live'.

Thanks for the info Les.

Personally it's not a biggie as I use a Sennheiser radio mic with EQ in the settings, and I can run it flat on my other controllers, but it will be a deal breaker for many others. Can't understand why such a requested feature has been left out on the new model.

Was thinking about getting one for the house to use with my Technics setup and also as a small controller for pub gigs where there isn't much space.

I need to know if two separate Engine versions can run on the same PC (as the MCX8000 still needs 1.6.1) and whether it will play my MP4 video files as audio only in standalone.

Maybe because it would require a redesign of the internal circuitry and new PCBs?

I can't understand why (on a unit that clearly doesn't have mic EQ) people buy it, and then complain, saying how it's an "essential feature". It isn't.

Just yesterday I watched a Twitch stream from Mojaxx, who was using just the GO+

He complained about not being able to hear himself in the headphones (another circuit design restriction) but his mic was directly connected and there was no issue with the sound.

When the original came out, I watched another Twitch DJ using a mic directly on the GO, and I was so impressed with the sound I asked what the mic was. Audix OM3 by the way.

In other words, it's evident that a mic on the GO can sound absolutely fine without the need for EQ.

In certain cases, yes however it's a basic thing on most controllers above £300 and you would just expect it to be there. It has been asked for repeatedly. They've had 5 years to find a workaround but clearly can't be bothered.

As I said it's not an issue for me personally but is for many others depending on their mic type and their voice characteristics.

Can't help feeling it would have improved sales whether you feel people need it or not as a lot of people on social channels are asking exactly that and would probably have upgraded had it been there.

IMO a lot of the asking is just a "viral" response. They're moaning because they've seen other people moaning.

These new AlphaTheta units - there are many complaining that they haven't got DMX or internal hard drives, or touch screen FX, or a sampler, or more streaming services - and on and on.

Not necessarily because they'd use those things, or that the product would be useless without it, but just as a thing to complain about.

Whatever product comes out, there'll always be something it doesn't have or can't do - and people will pick up on that & moan about it.

But irrespective of that a Mic EQ is a basic feature (especially for a £900+ controller) and not something people should need to ask for .... as many have.

If it's not there and people don't buy the controller then that's on Denon.

One would think from the reactions that the GO is the first product to be released that doesn't have EQ for the mic. That's far from the case. The comments about this or that being missing from a device also typically claim that the feature is basic, or essential, or important, or easy to add, or a deal breaker.

The fact is, the unit works fine without mic EQ, as have other units before it.

It also works fine without having a cue for the aux input, or having VU meters on every channel, or having the same FX as the products above it - and on and on with things that people have complained about.

Well I guess only time will tell with how many they sell (or don't) then.

I also suspect many will just get the original go discounted or a second hand one significantly cheaper anyway.

eBay has had a few lately (never been gigged, home use only, used a couple of times, cellophane still on the screen etc etc .....)

I have a GO but there's no reason for me to grab this version as the Original can pretty much do everything and the battery life isn't as much as they say according to MOJAX.

No eq on the mic doesn't bother me, it is what it is. I don't use Amazon music of whatever it's called but it's there if I ever wanted to, i guess.

I use my GO waaaaaaay more than the Prime 4 lol!! I do like the new color scheme though, I skinned mine white when I first got it.

This seems more like a chance to ditch some back stock, throw a chip in it and get rid of the access, idk....

I suspect the battery life thing wasn't even planned. Possibly just a consequence of removing the LAN stuff, or having newer component types, or even just a slightly better battery from whoever supplies it to them.

Yes, good for anyone interested, that the original now will presumably drop in price, and some users will sell them off to get this one because GAS.

There's a new rotary on the block...

Straight out of France, the Wax Precision 04 analogue DJ mixer.

€2,380 and no EQ on the mic
