I'll keep it very simple and leave redirects to posts illustrating the problem.
Ok so, will VDJ support multiple tag values and custom tags defined outside the software?
While this software is becoming more and more feature-rich, I find it a pity not to be able to read out all the tracks information, when this can be done in a easily with other music managers and DJ softs.
My big problem is the “DISPLAY ARTIST” tag, which I'm trying to make clean with my manager so that it won't be used by VDJ.
This subject was discussed several years ago on this forum, and nothing has changed in this regard. I recently discussed the problem on the MusicBee forum, since that's the manager I use, and it's certainly one of the most complete on the market. I'll let you have a look if you want the “technical details” (even if it's not all that technical, though).
And by the way, Traktor doesn't quite manage all the tags yet, but the main artists are read separately, more or less correctly. While Mixxx, an open source alternative, manages to read tags completely. :|
