This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So I am trying to get the remote working. And yes I've read all the old articles. The app recognizes my devices and will connect. After connection I get this message " This Device refused connection check firewall". Firewall is set to allow all VDJ connections. Everything I've tried does not work. Any suggestions? With all the articles over 9 years old is this function still being updated?

Try setting the ip address manually. It will display if you touch the remote screen while it's trying to connect.
